Lois Mary Oas

She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Kermit and Cyrilla Kaschke on January 8, 1944. Lois attended Holy Childhood Catholic grade school in St. Paul and was the first graduating class from Archbishop Murray in 1962. She then attended nursing school and worked at Miller Hospital, St. Paul. Wanting to see more of the world, she became a stewardess with Northwest Airlines for a number of years.

She later married William Oas in 1967 and became Lois Oas. After their children were born, she had the opportunity to stay home with them. A few years later, she accepted a position at the elementary school her children attended. She enjoyed various support roles there, but truly loved her position in the library and working with many staff members who also became friends.

Lois loved traveling and over the years, she and Bill visited many parts of the world. Her favorite place to visit was Puerto Vallarta where they spent over 30 years returning to the same resort, all while making special, lifelong friends. She also enjoyed being active, golfing and watching any sport her grandchildren played. She created wonderful, dedicated friendships with the many people they met along the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Cyrilla.

Lois is survived by her loving husband, Bill; children, Jennifer (Chris) Zellmer and Dan (Sara) Oas; 4 beloved grandchildren, Grace, Jack, Campbell and Sydney; sister, Joann and many nieces and nephews. She will always be loved and forever missed.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Sunset Kapala Glodek Funeral Home, Minneapolis at 11:00 am with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be held following the service at 12:00 pm at Sunset Cemetery, Minneapolis.
