Lynne Louise Richmond, warm & gentle spouse and friend, passed away with Marsha by her side at age 84 on October 13th, 2026. Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruby Richmond, and her sister and partner, Johanna and Cedar Morrigan. Lynne is survived by Marsha Linden, her best friend and life partner of 45 years; sister-in-law, Diane Jude; nieces, Beth (Derek) Hoffman and Kris (Matthew)Mies; and great-nephew, Andrew Gassman.
Lynne considered St. Louis her hometown and graduated with honors at both Webster Groves High School and Washington University. She worked for world-renowned medical geneticist and researcher Dr. David Rimoin at Washington University. When he moved to UCLA, he asked Lynne to move with him to set up and run his lab, which she did. Lynne eventually went back to school to become a medical technologist and to get a master's degree in medical microbiology at the University of Minnesota. For 20 years, Lynne worked as a microbiology supervisor at two metro hospitals. Lynne loved nature and her cats and met the world with a blend of curiosity and sharp, no-nonsense honesty, always ready to call out cruelty or meanness for what it was. She is remembered by those who knew her as a “brilliant mind anchored by a remarkably grounded, brave spirit,” “caring and compassionate,” and a “gentle and kind presence” who will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12th, 1-2pm, with a Celebration of Life at 2 pm at Centennial United Methodist Church, 1524 County Rd C2 W, Roseville, MN 55113.
