Age 84 of Forest Lake, Minnesota
Died Monday, August 26, 2019.
Margie was born at Deaconess Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and grew up in the Twin Cities area. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1952 and St. Barnabas Hospital School of Nursing in 1955.
Margie married Ronald Renn 65 years ago at Gethsemane Episcopal Church, Minneapolis. After their marriage, she moved to Oceanside, California, to join her husband who was in the service. When Ron’s service was completed they returned to the Twin Cities. In 1969, they moved to Moose Lake, Minnesota, where she worked at the Moose Lake State Hospital/Regional Treatment Center as an RN for 25 ½ years and for 4 years she was a Head Nurse. In 1973, she became an instructor in Staff Development and taught for the next 21 years. She retired when the hospital closed on June 30, 1995.
She was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Moose Lake and active in several organizations including: Al-Anon, American Legion Auxiliary, Moose Lake Area Historical Society, Episcopal Cursillo, and Marriage Encounter.
Preceded in death by: infant son, Michael; her parents G.A. and Barbara; and her brother, Ted.
Margie is survived by: her husband, Ron; her children: Betsy, Tom (Diana), Tim (Mary), and Merry (Mark). Seven grandchildren: Michael (Chasteen), Elijah (Marjorie), Brandan, Douglas, Caitlin (Peter), Eric, and Becca; Six great-grandchildren: Rachel, Brenden, Alyssa, Ryan, Aaron, and Bianka; and one great great-granddaughter, Kira.
A celebration of Margie’s life will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at the Soo Line Event Center, 900 Folz Boulevard, Moose Lake, Minnesota, at 1:30 PM with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM.
