Mary Elizabeth Guest

Mary was born March 3, 1936, in Montgomery, Minnesota, to Maude and Pontie Seifert. She built a life centered on faith, family, and love for those around her. A devoted wife and mother, Mary dedicated much of her life to raising and caring for her family. She found great joy in being a mother and grandmother, and her family remained at the heart of her life.

Mary loved to travel, garden, and search for treasures while antique shopping. She and her family shared many adventures over the years, traveling across the country by motorhome and visiting historic sites and national parks along the way. Those journeys created lasting memories and reflected Mary’s curiosity, sense of adventure, and love of time spent together.

Her faith was an important part of her life. Mary and her husband, John, were members of St. Ambrose Catholic Community in Woodbury, Minnesota, where she lived out her faith as a faithful servant of God.

Mary will be deeply missed by her husband, John Guest; son, Michael Guest and his wife, Kim Borton; daughter, Molly Hames; and grandchildren Nick Hames, Thomas Hames, and Connor Borton-Guest.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maude and Pontie Seifert.

Mary’s family is deeply grateful to the many people who cared for her with kindness and compassion, especially the staff of Woodbury Cancer Center and Presbyterian Homes.

Memorials are preferred to St. Ambrose Catholic Community in Woodbury.
