Charletta Strauss

Mom was the type of woman who could do almost anything, from sewing, knitting, crocheting, tatting, painting and help Dad build a cabin on Big Sandy. I'm grateful for all the crafts, cooking, cleaning that she taught Van and I. Mom worked hard her entire life to help Dad give us the best of everything. I have such great memories of our cabin on the lake, the boat and sauna. We would go and take a sauna in the middle of winter and since the lake was frozen, we would jump in a pile of snow. We would all go snowmobiling on Big Sandy, and through the woods and follow the poker run. Dads liked to fish so we were able to have a lot of walleye dinners. Mom and Dad took us on many vacations all around the US. Traveling back and forth from Seattle to Minneapolis was so exciting because we would see all our cousins. I have so many great memories. Mom there is no one like you and you will be missed. Have a great time in heaven, see you there.

maxine evans, who could forget her! she lived next door to my family the phillips! i grew up with vaness and worked together, and then worked at honeywell together . maxine gave us the heads up that honeywell was hiring , "so get yourselves there"max said. we did and got hired. thank you max for that. i caught on to max after awhile, something sassy she would say, that might have caught you off gaurd a bit, always came with that special half smile, that said"you know i love ya" . as a young girl 16, 17, hanging out in maxines kitchen, not knowing about cooking,i had to always lift the lid of her pot that was bubbling to see what is was. one time it scared me, "oh my gosh, what is that? van said "its cow tongue!" i never lifted any lid from her kitchen again" maxine i will never forget you,or your talent in painting what an artist you are!! and of course your bead work and all those other talents you have. R I P my special lady!
