Meghan Joy Dale

Meghan was born in Milaca, MN on March 29, 1942. She graduated from Robbinsdale High School with the Class of 1960 and went on to dedicate many years of her life to caring for others: both as a mother to her three beloved boys, and as a nurse, a profession that reflected her compassionate and caring nature.

Meghan found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved gardening, knitting, crocheting, listening to music, journaling, and reading. At the same time, she also had an appreciation for beauty and celebration, and delighted in decorating her home for every holiday, going on shopping excursions, dressing for an occasion, and accessorizing with her favorite pieces of jewelry, always carrying herself with grace and style. Meghan had a gift for connecting with people and made friends wherever life took her. Her big, warm smile, genuine interest in others, and welcoming spirit turned neighbors into friends and friends into family. Even in her final years, she remained a vibrant part of her community and was recently chosen by her fellow residents as the honorary "President" of her assisted living facility, a distinction that reflected the affection, respect, and friendship she inspired in those around her.

She will be deeply missed by her son, Kevin (Kari) Heimer; her daughter-in-law, Diane Buranen; her grandchildren, Jake (Katie) Buranen, Geo Buranen, Austin (Tia) Heimer, and Andrew Halko; her great-grandchildren, Dexter, Rodney, Riley, Alice, Raiden, and Archer; and her dear friend, Bob Tschida. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory. Meghan was preceded in death by her sons Rod and Doug Buranen. Though their loss brought a sorrow she carried for the rest of her life, their memories remained a constant source of love. After years apart, they are together once more.

Meghan will be remembered for her caring heart, her creativity, her love of family, and the warmth she brought to those around her. Her kindness, strength, and joyful spirit will continue to live on in the lives of all who knew and loved her.

The family is grateful that Meghan was able to spend her final days peacefully at home, surrounded by comfort and love. The family wishes to thank the staff of The Sanctuary at Brooklyn Center for the exceptional care and kindness they showed her. We found great comfort in knowing she was surrounded by nurses, aides, and caregivers who treated her with genuine affection, compassion, and respect. Their love and kindness extended far beyond their daily duties, and it was evident in the relationships they built with her.

She will be forever remembered and deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life and Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Sanctuary at Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories, enjoy food and refreshments, and celebrate Meghan’s life. The family warmly welcomes all who wish to attend, whether or not they are residents of The Sanctuary. Following the visitation, all who wish to attend are welcome to join the family at Sunset Cemetery in Saint Anthony as she is laid to rest.
