It hasn't been easy coming to terms with such a loss and I don't think it ever will be.  You always made sure the people around you were happy and doing well. I'll always appreciate how treated me like a son and hold on to the values you taught me.

The news of your passing was indeed a shock to us. I never knew that on Father’s Day - June 20, 2021 was the last time I will hear your voice. We had hoped to visit you in Minnesota after your 2019 trip to Chicago, but the pandemic situation altered much of our plans. Alas, that won’t happen again. We will always cherish your warm and ambient personality, your candor and sincere love of people – family and friends.

You were a bridge builder, always eager to see relationships thrive. You were generous with your resources – possession, knowledge, experience, time and influence – a trait you got from your dad. We are thankful for the time we had to enjoy those. My family is especially thankful for the counsel you gave that helped us through a challenging experience.

You have left a rich legacy of goodness that is worthy of emulation. 

Moreover, because you rested in the Lord, sweet shall remain the memory of you.

A TRIBUTE TO OLUFEMI OLUSEGUN ALUGO 1955-2021

I met Uncle Femi when he started courting my sister  Emelia and eventually got married to her. Uncle Femi was working in the bank then, can't even remember the name of the bank now as it is moribund now before he travelled out of the country. 
Uncle Femi was an in- law but he treated me not just as such but like his sister. Whenever I go visiting or he comes visiting, he is ever ready to lend a hand as "aburo". Sometimes he will spoil me by saying " I dey owe you o" and sometimes that money will get belle and born pickin self!
The last time was when they came for Bro Welly's burial and he told me he had a gift for me, he was so emphatic and insistent that I must come and take it... it was a perfume, I am yet to open it... ah Uncle Femi, they say you have gone...death..Iku ah! This is one too much o!

TRIBUTE TO FEMI ALUGO A GREAT BROTHER AND FRIEND 

The announcement of Femi’s death came as a rude shock having seen him recently when he came to Nigeria.  I met Femi Alugo about 26 years ago and my first impression of him was sustained throughout the 26 year period I had the privilege of knowing him. 
He was extremely kind, generous, and full of compassion and love to close family and friends. 

Femi was accommodating to a fault.  Most of the children of his in-laws and immediate family that visited and studied in the US benefitted from his wisdom, love and compassion. My son Kolawole was one of those beneficiaries. He was indeed the Diaspora Father to them all.  His house was made available as our “family offshore warehouse.” Any time we needed to order items on the internet, the goods were invariably sent there for forward delivery on the next person coming to Nigeria. Whenever Femi was coming to Nigeria you could always be expectant that there was a gift awaiting you, for most if not all of us, and which he did religiously. 

I was indeed very honoured when I was asked to play the role as an interpreter during his engagement ceremony.  
He was truly a kind, gentle and generous brother, relative and friend that we will truly miss.  May his gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace! Amen

Wednesday, 20th of October,2021.....I got up from bed at 5.45am. As I was getting ready for my morning prayers my phone rang as I saw the caller's name a feeling of foreboding came all over me. I picked up the the phone and answered the call..... that was when this spiral of unhappiness started. I couldn't and still cannot believe it. 
The last time we saw was on the 19th of August,2021. Uncle Femi was not just my late husband's friend, he was more of an elder brother to me. My marriage lasted as long as it did because of him. He was always there with listening ears and always saying the truth regardless of who was at fault.
We have been together for years and we are no longer friends but now family. What am I to say about this angel that was sent to my children and I by God? Every time I am down and thinking of what to do. ... out of nowhere without complaining to him or his wife (my dear sister) he will just send me something to put a smile on my face.... that is why I called him an angel. 
I cry every day, but I know that the time for the real tears has not actually come. May his sweet gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
I pray that God should please 🙏 console my dear sister... Emilia, In Jesus Name, amen 🙏

Femi was my manager at Fairview. He was very encouraging and full of kindness.  I remember how concerned he was when I had gotten hurt and will ALWAYS remember how he would roll up his sleeves and help work right along side the employees. I was fortunate to work under Femi at FUMC as a front desk employee.
He was a personable and fair manager and it was my pleasure to have known him.
We are all better for having  crossed paths with him.
We are all sad now and will miss him.

Femi was my first manager at FUMC  in patient transport.
He appreciated our work and we respected him.
He even put on a uniform shirt and pitched in during a nurses strike which I will never forget.
He was a powerful and special man and I am sorry to hear of his passing.

TRIBUTE TO OUR LATE SCHOOLMATE, A FRIEND AND A BROTHER. OLUFEMI OLUSEGUN ALUGO - MR. MAN.

  On Tuesday night 19th October 2021, a very good friend called me from Minneapolis and broke the sad and shocking news of the passing on of a compatriot, schoolmate and a very close and good friend of 33yrs, Mr. MAN as I used to call him - Late Olufemi Olusegun Alugo. 
It first appeared like a dream but Alas! It was true.
Femi, My Man as fondly called by mates, friends and well wishers was a gem, kind, humble, meticulous out-going person, always smiling and loving. In spite of this sadness, I recall with joy his numerous activities and achievements while at Mankato State University, where I  met him driving together from Minneapolis to Mankato for school.

He was a seasoned banker (Savanah Bank  Nig. Ltd and Victory Bank) and elsewhere. Femi was an amiable personality loved by all and sundry: a complete gentle and accommodating family man, disciplined and focused. 
Our dearest Femi, My Man, no doubt, you came, saw and conquered.  For great men like you, it's not how long but how impactful one lived and the lives touched during the journey. Therefore,  we take solace in the word of God that says in everything,  we should give thanks. So Femi, My Man take your deserved rest among the saints triumphant till we meet again on the resurrection morning. 
My prayer for Emilia, the children and the entire Alugo family is that God in His infinite mercies will comfort you all and give you the  strength to bear this great loss.

I  met Femi in 1969,in high school,Adeola Odutola College. We  both share a hostel room,where six students were living.                 Femi and I were from Lagos city,knowing that caused us to gel immediately. It was a friendship made from heaven.                           Femi was a kind,unobtrusive,gentle,meticulous outgoing person.                                                           Femi  would not relent when he heard of my gallivanting to the State,he quickly worked it out with his dad that he must further his education in America. Lo and behold we were both in America again.  When i told him am ready to go back  home,he implored me to wait till the following year.                                                            Upon returning home,we both did our NYSC  stint in Lagos State,in1983. We had a blast,youth exuberance.                                          When marriages set in it  was time to drift. With each one of us doing their things.          May God grants his family the fortitude to bear the loss

You taught me a lot of things that has helped me grow into who I am today. Thank you for your hard working spirit and extreme kindness to everyone across your path.  You will be missed

 Mr. Alugo gave me the opportunity to work at my first real job, an opportunity I may not have been granted if someone with his generosity wasn't in his position. Getting this job proved to be one of the most impactful moments in my life, as it set me down my continued path of health care and set me up to meet my lifelong friends, who I now consider family. And ever since then, whenever he would see my mom, he would ask how I was doing. He was a caring and funny man and will be missed. Rest in Peace

His unique voice pierced the room and his smile and energy was contagious. The love and joy he shared with everyone will continue to live on in our hearts.  The legacy he built will continue to stand strong and we will continue to celebrate the amazing life he lived.  

Daddy, thank you for being a blessing to my family. You were an amazing dad! You taught me to be patient. We miss you.  REST IN PEACE DAD!

Daddy ever since I've known him he has been good, really really good, caring, selfless and always willing to listen. Growing up we used to call him Big Daddy and he was for sure our Big Daddy cos he always gave us everything and only the best....I remember in year 2002 when he bought us Playstation 2 we were the only ones to have such a luxurious game in our whole neighborhood for like 2years and that's like the least of the good things he did for us.....
Daddy helped me to be a better man and ensured I remain on a good path, I can hardly move around my house without seeing something that reminds me of Daddy and how much of a wonderful father he was to all his children. You'll forever remain in my heart. Thank you for everything Daddy & I Love you Forever. Rest in peace Sir.

I learnt more from him that any other person. With him there is always something to learn. Thank you for everything you did for me and my brothers. I will miss you. Rest in Peace. 

I have known bro Femi for more than 20 years and since then he has been a blessing to me and the people around me. He was a great mentor, he always had great advice and took me as his younger brother.  I remembered when I came to the country newly he gave me money to call my family in Nigeria.  I am also fortunate to work with him at Fairview hospital for more than 15 years. I personally brought more than 5 people to him as a manager to assist them with job and always be assistant. He was a problem solver, no matter what you brought to him as your concerns you will always leave with joy in your heart.  BRO FEMI you  will be greatly missed.  May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace  IJN AMEN. May your good work that you do follow your family.

I remember when I was at my lowest seeking a place to work. I came to him doing everything to sell myself the job (even without yet putting in an application). He was very sympathetic to my situation. He saw potential in me and gave a good recommendation to the incoming admin. That led to me getting hired at one of my favorite jobs. I will never forget that because at the time the decision he made was very pivotal in my development in my younger twenties. Without him I would have never met some of my life long friends. He will be missed dearly. I pray that he is at peace and watching over his family with joy. 

Our Brother-In-Law Femi, brought such a light into the world that even after he left his light shines on through Emelia and his children. 
Femi was such a kind and friendly person and there was a smile each and every time you spoke with him.
Those we love don't go away. They walk beside their families every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Femi, is gone from our sight, but not from our  hearts. His death left a heartache that no one can heal. His friendship and kindness leave wonderful memories that no one can steal. Rest in perfect peace.
