Age 90, of Columbia Heights, Minnesota, passed away January 25, 2014.
Preceded in death by parents Henry and Kora Rudesill of Minneapolis, 7 brothers and sisters, husband Thomas F. Lanford Jr., daughter Linda, and son Tom.
Peggy, as she preferred to be called, graduated Marshall High School in 1941, entered the Women’s Marines in 1943 and served 2 years. Married to Thomas in 1944, they returned to Minnesota in 1947. He passed away in 1972, she never remarried, and is survived by sons David (Mary), Rev. Richard (Beth), and daughter Pamela, her husband Jeff Kohler and their children Regan, Aurora, and Paige, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Peggy attended the U of M completing over 3 years toward a business degree. She enjoyed bowling, bridge, crossword puzzles, and an occasional trip to try her luck at slots.
Visitation will be held at the Sunset Funeral Home, 2250 St. Anthony Boulevard Northeast, Minneapolis, on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 1-3 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 3 p.m.
The family requests memorials to First Congregational Church, 500 8th Ave., S.E., Minneapolis, MN. 55414 in lieu of flowers.
