

Richard was born in St. Cloud, MN, and earned his pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota in 1960, A loyal Gophers fan throughout his life, he went on to have a long and dedicated career as a pharmacist, with most of his years spent at United Hospital.
Richard married Estela in June of 1973. They shared many adventures, travels, and a deep love for family. Together they explored Alaska, Mexico, Hawaii, Florida, and many other destinations, making memories that will last a lifetime. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished his time with family and was proud to witness his children and grandchildren becoming remarkable adults and to know his delightful great-granddaughters.
Richard gave generously of this time and resources, regularly supporting charitable organizations and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed sports – especially the Twins, Vikings, and Gophers - along with music, building a vast record collection that reflected his love for classical, bluegrass, and jazz. A man of many interests, he collected coins, stamps, and books. He created beautiful cross-stitch pieces and found joy in reading, puzzles, and art. Richard is a cancer survivor who kept his faith and zest for life while he worked his way through repeated challenges to full remission. He will be remembered for his patience, kindness, and love of life.
Richard is survived by his wife Estela; his children, Richard (Colleen) and Sonya Reisdorf; his grandchildren, Rich (Debbie), Kaela, and Alexander; and great granddaughters, Felicity and Evelyn Reisdorf.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth, and his brothers George, Robert, Donald, and John.
Richard’s Catholic faith was important to him, and it guided his life. He is deeply loved and will be remembered by all whose lives he touched.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 15, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd, Minneapolis, MN. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am with burial.
