

He is survived by a loving wife, Marilyn, of 59 years; also their four children, Paul (Marianna), Kathleen (Bernie) Wieme, Rebecca (Jeff) Kuehnl, Carol; seven grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
Richard was born in Wichita, Kansas. He was the youngest of three brothers who were raised on a wheat farm in south central Kansas. He graduated from Clearwater, Kansas High School in 1944. After training in the US Maritime Service he served as a licensed radio telegraph operator in the US Merchant Marine for four years. Richard graduated from Kansas State University with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering in 1953 and then entered industry. He was later drafted and served two years as an electronics instructor at the Army Ordinance School at Aberdeen, MD. After returning to industry he worked initially as a design engineer in the field of aircraft communication equipment for Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, IA. Later he worked as a design or project engineer on TV broadcast studio equipment and video display monitors in Boulder, CO and then in the Twin Cities. Complementing his work he has received three US Patents. During much of his professional career he was a member of the Society of Motion Pictures and TV Engineers with publication of one technical paper. He was a lifelong active member and supporter of the United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, April 18th at Faith United Methodist Church, 2708 33rd Ave NE, St. Anthony, MN with the funeral service following at 2 PM.
The interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, St. Anthony, MN.
