

Robert (Bob) Taylor was born to George W. and Helena (Langheim) Taylor on February 26, 1934. He grew up in the small farming community of Litchfield, IL with his three brothers and two sisters. Bob attended and graduated from Litchfield High School. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and became a radar technician, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After four years of service, he took a job with Remington Rand Univac as a tech support engineer. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Helen Anne (Glinka) Taylor. They were married in 1958 in St. Paul. Bob began working at Control Data Corporation as a computer programmer, then at the Eagan Post Office, and later back at Control Data, before retiring at the age of 53.
Bob was a kind, gentle family man. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren deeply and enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, woodworking and recreational shooting. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, siblings George, John, William, Marjory, and Ruth, his beloved wife Helen, and son James Kevin.
He is survived by his son, Stephen (Janet) Taylor; daughter, Elizabeth (James) Hoff and grandchildren, Michael, Kathryn, Andrew, Joshua, Ryan, Sarah and Daniel and three great grandchildren, Caelan, Kaia, and Harrison.
He is deeply missed by his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia Heights, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 11 am with visitation an hour prior to the service.
Private interment at Sunset Memorial.
