The world lost a Great Man.  He will be missed, and remembered everyday.  His love of life will be a great memory for all.

Words cannot truly express the impact Uncle Stan had on our lives.  He always made us feel loved.  Our times together, and the thousands of laughs we shared, will forever be a constant reminder of what a great man he truly was.  It is said that as long as you keep a person in your heart they are always with you.  In that case, our Dear Uncle Stan, we will always be together. May you and Aunt Jean be as happy in Heaven as the two of you made all of us here on Earth.  God Bless You Both.

Doug and I got to talk to Stan one last time before he passed.  He always looked so good, never seemed to age and always had nothing but good things to say about people and life in general.  He was my big brother.  We didn't get to spend enough time with each other, but the time we did share was always the best. Doug and I got to see him in 2005 for a short time and it was as always, great!  Doug and I loved him and will miss him, but I also know we will see him again.  My heart goes out to Merillee, Will and ALL of our family.  Wish we could be there on Thursday, but unfortunately that won't be possible.  He will be forever in our thoughts.  Heaven is rejoicing!!

My thoughts & prayers go out to the family & friends of a person that has inspired my life for the last 30 years, from our Navy cruises from Quantico, VA, to Camp Pendleton, Ca, to Gulf Port, Ms, to Mt Clemens, Mi, to Camp Blanding, Fl. to Guatanamo Bay, Cuba, to the various camps we worked at, such as Camp Kawanis, Mn, Camp New Hope in McGreagor, Mn, to Camp Courage in Annandale, Mn to the Rum Parties we have had. Stan has treated we with all the loving respect as a good Father to a Son. He has taught me many different things in the Seabees and in real life. He will be deeply missed, & I will think of him every time I relax to have my rum. From the person Stan always called me (MR.DEAN) He was so very special in my life.

As I sat by his bed one day, with a few tears in my eyes, he looked at me and said, "Don't cry for me sis"."I have lived a long, full life". "I have had the most loving, caring, wonderful, children I could ever ask for"." They have made me proud"! "I have the most, "Wonderful Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren, one could ever have hoped for". "A family so full of love, they can hardly contain it". "Don't cry for me, sis." I looked at him, and said, " I can't help it, I'm gonna miss you so much", But then, I know we will see each other again someday". With that twinkle in his eye, he looked at me, and said "Why, are you going to hell too"? We both started laughing. He ALWAYS knew how to laugh and make everyone smile. "Life is to short to frown"! "God rest your soul Big Brother". "We WILL see each other again".

Stan was the greatest big brother ever--so wise, easy going, always ready to lend a helping hand, and loving of family.  We have such great memories of times spent with him and his family during my childhood and teens, and then fun times when he and Jean would come up to Askov during deer hunting season.  He had a great fondness for LeRoux Blackberry Brandy.  Heaven must be rejoicing!!

He will be very much missed. I will have a rum with his name on it.
