The third of four children to William and Adeline Ingison. He was the last surviving of his siblings, Bill, Linda, and younger brother Jim.
The Ingison family lived in North Minneapolis and Tom graduated from Minnehaha Academy in 1969 as an accomplished swimmer and choir member. He then attended Bemidji State University where he received a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Guidance Counseling.
Tom also met his wife, Peggy Sullivan at Bemidji State. They raised two children, Daniel and Kathryn. Tom’s kids were the light of his life. He coached them in sports, was a Cub Scout Den Master, and shared his love for the outdoors on numerous camping, hunting and fishing trips.
Tom’s career was primarily in Project Management at Honeywell and other companies. After having his fill of the Corporate world, Tom followed his passion and love of the outdoors and bought a resort in Ely, MN which provided his family with endless memories.
In recent years Tom’s health issues kept him from being very active, but there was hardly a year where he missed a deer hunting trip to the “Shack on the Black”, including this past fall after a major heart surgery.
Tom leaves behind his son, Daniel (wife, Rebecca and grandson, William) and daughter, Kathryn. He frequently expressed his joy and surviving long enough to meet his Grandson.
Tom had a very kind, compassionate, and generous heart. He passed away on 2/21/22 after a courageous battle with Lung cancer. He passed peacefully with his kids watching over him in his final days.
A memorial service will be held at 4PM, Friday, March 4, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Chapel (2250 St. Anthony Blvd NE, Minneapolis, MN) with a visitation one-hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Tom’s name to Meals on Wheels or the Cancer Research Foundation.
