Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and John Martonik; his first wife, Barbara Fitz.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Martonik; children, Susanne "Susie" (Mark) Waskosky, Megan (Brandon) Manske and Andrew (Mitikenesh) Smith; grandchildren, Taylor Waskosky, Sierra (Jessica) Waskosky, Ethan Smith, Judah Smith, Gabriella Smith and Ermias Smith; siblings, Mary Lou (Gene) Kulander, Daniel (Helen) Martonik and Karen (Mike Bombyk) Martonik and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Sunset Kapala Glodek Funeral Home, Minneapolis from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A celebration of life will be from 6:00pm-7:00pm.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 23, 2026 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Minneapolis with a visitation beginning at 9:30 am.
Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis at 1:30pm with military honors.
