Dorothy Rose Burns (nee Tranter) January 6, 1918  July 1,2015 

    Dorothy, Happy, Dot, Mum, Auntie, Gramma, Nana all rolled into one loving and loved person. Born in Catford (south of  London)Dot was a bomb girl at Arsenal during the war when she met Hughie from Saskatchewan. She came to Canada, a war bride with a babe in arms, to start a new life with Hughie in Kelfield, a rough start for a girl from London. She adapted, an English rose on the Canadian prairie. and went on to be a great mum of five sons. The family moved to Saskatoon, then to Nanaimo, Coquitlam, Whonnock, and Mission. Square dancing and traveling with Hughie in their RV brought her joy. She took many a niece, nephew and other youth under her wing, teaching them to garden and to cook. She survived having three sons who were drummers, and listening to a lot of bad puns. A woman of faith. Dorothy had a great sense of humour and a warm smile. Thanks to caring staff at Maple Ridge Seniors Village and The Residence in Mission, and to Drs. Patel andMilewski and all who helped Dorothy along the way. She is home' at last with Hughie and Don.

 Memorial 1p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Holy Spirit Anglican Church, 27123 River Rd., Maple Ridge(Whonnock), B.C.

Please give our sympathy to all your family Alan.Treasure the memories you have of your folks- you have those forever.You may not remember- you were very young when your family used to visit us at the farm north of Dodsland.
