Frances Rebecca (Beckie) Reamsbottom (Dec. 1, 1921 - 2018) died in Mission BC, March 21. She is survived by son George, his wife Iris, their children, Felicia and Amelia, and great grandchildren Kailey, Kiera, Chaz and Rylan. Predeceased by her husband, Dennis in 2002. One surviving sister Gwen in Toronto.
Beckie's career included assistant to the Vancouver City chief planner, and assistant to NDP MP Mark Rose. Beckie was a life member of the BC NDP, an honour bestowed by former premier Dave Barrett.
After moving from Vancouver to McConnell Creek near Mission in 1969, Beckie was a prominent community supporter. She was on elected executives and oversaw bingo games at the local farmer's hall for decades. She was a co-founder of SANS and rescued many cats.
Memorial service is planned in approximately one month at St. Helen's Anglican Church in Surrey.
