Frederick William Clarke passed away at home with his beautiful family surrounding him with love. Fred was born and raised in Mission, B.C. and graduated from Mission Secondary School.
In his youth, he was an avid sportsman, a natural athlete known for his competitive spirit, determination and quiet leadership. Fred went on to earn his chartered accountant designation, laying the foundation for an extraordinary career. He founded the Clarke Group of Companies and built it into a thriving and highly respected enterprise. Fred’s success extended far beyond business. He was deeply committed to his community and among his many contributions was his support of the Clarke Theater. In recognition of his lifelong dedication to community service Fred was honoured with the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, a distinction that reflected his generosity and commitment to giving back.
Fred’s passion for golf inspired him to establish the Clarke Foundation NHL Old-Timers Golf Tournament, an annual event that raised funds for charity. A true reflection of both his love of the game and his generous spirit.
Fred was pre-deceased by his beloved son, Scotty. He is survived by his devoted wife, BettyLou, daughter Markie (Pam), son Louis, sister Carol, brother Phonse, nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren who will always remember their “Magic Papa”.
He built the foundation of a beautiful family that will continue to grow and thrive for generations to come. His absence will leave a lasting impact, and his memory will continue to inspire us.
“Don’t forget somewhere between hello and goodbye there was love, so much love”
