

.Margaritha Emmenegger – Marbach passed away to be with the Lord Jesus on June 29, four months shy of her 90th birthday, of complications from a severe stroke. She was among family & friends at the time of her passing. Margaritha was born on her parent’s family farm in Malters, Switzerland. She was the daughter of Josef & Agatha Emmenegger – Mueller & the loving sibling of 11 brothers & sisters. She met Julius Marbach, her future husband, in Switzerland and they were wed on August 30, 1952 in Canton Luzern, Switzerland celebrating a double wedding with Julius’ twin brother Otto and fiancé Mary. Margaritha & Julius began their life together in Kriens, Switzerland, but soon immigrated to Toronto Canada in 1957 and lived there until moving to San Diego, CA in 1960. In 1965 they moved to Los Angeles County where she lived until her passing. Julius passed away in May 1996 after which she settled in Valencia, CA to live close to her family. She is survived by her three children; Andreas Marbach (b. March 1954), Sonja Marbach – Taylor (b. Dec 1957) & Mark Marbach (b. May 1968). Family was a very important part of her life. Not only did she love her children & grandchildren very much, she also loved their spouses equally. Ellen (Andreas), Greg (Sonja) & Michelle (Mark). She was blessed with five grandchildren Erich (married to Candy ), Kristine (married to Cameron), Alex, Delaney & Sydney along with her newest grandchild Brooke who joined the family in 2015. Margaritha enjoyed a wonderful and fulfilling life. First as a homemaker, then as a personal assistant and finally working side by side with Julius in his cabinet / carpentry business. In her spare time she volunteered her time as a member of the Swiss Ladies Society in Los Angeles & was active in the Swiss community throughout her life in Canada & the USA. She was a lady of quiet dignity and amazing talent (Swiss chef extraordinaire) who will be missed very much. All who were part of her life were blessed to have known her.
Vigil on Wednesday July 6 from 6-9pm at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary 11160 Stranwood Ave.
Services are on Thursday July 7 10am @ Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Newhall, CA with interment immediately following at San Fernando Mission Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to Julius her husband of 44 years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Margaritha’s memory to the Swiss Relief Society of Los Angeles.
