

McALLEN — Clarisa Adriana Perez Tovar, 42, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 6, 2015 in Edinburg. Clarisa was born on August 29, 1973 in McAllen, Texas to Hector and Graciela Perez. Clarisa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Fidel and Sofía Peña and Gilberto and Guadalupe Pérez. Clarisa attended Jackson Elementary, Lamar Middle School and Memorial High School. At University of Texas Pan American she earned a bachelor’s degree in Education, a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and a Master’s in Reading. She grew up believing in education. Clari taught Kindergarten and also third grade at Navarro Elementary. After that she went first to Garza Elementary and then to Sam Houston Elementary where she was assistant principal. For the last 10 years she was the McAllen ISD Assessment Coordinator for Elementary Education. She served the education community in McAllen for 18 years. She was a loving wife, and best friend, to Mark for seventeen years. Clari was a devoted and loving mother to Miguel, Caleb and Caitlin. Clarisa showed her belief and love of education in the way she dedicated herself to caring for her own children and their education, not only their learning in school but also in the education of her high standards and faith in God. Her family was always first in her life. The Pérez/Tovar families know that Clari earned so much love and admiration by the way our community has shown their love and support for us. We will never be able to finish saying thank you to all. Clarisa is survived by her loving husband, Marcos Antonio Tovar; her children, Miguel Sebastian Tovar, Caleb Andrew Tovar, and Caitlin Marisa Tovar. She is also survived by her parents, Hector and Graciela Peña Perez; brother, Hector Eduardo Perez (Emily); sister-in-law, Sandra Tovar Smith (James Smith); brother-in-law Noe Tovar, Jr. and Father-in-law, Noe (Francisca) Tovar and numerous extended family members and friends. Family will receive friends today, Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4-9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in McAllen. Funeral service will be Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in McAllen. Interment will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria del Angel in Mission, a dignity memorial provider, 3611 N. Taylor Rd. in Mission
