Dalia was born on April 9, 1940, to Pedro Jimenez and Maria Guadalupe Rivera. From a young age, she showed strength, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility—especially after the passing of her father, when she helped raise her younger siblings. That caring spirit would become the defining thread of her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Mario Bazaldua Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and family. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support.
Dalia is lovingly remembered by her children: Mario Bazaldua Jr., Maribel Salinas (Joe), and Michelle Peugh (John). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Charlie, Jaime, Ayssa, Katrina, Jocelynne, and Ronnie, and she held a special place in her heart as an honorary grandmother to Macie, Melissa, and Javier. Her legacy also lives on through her siblings Margie Martinez, Tony Jimenez, and Linda Arevalo, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
She is also preceded by her parents and 11 siblings.
A dedicated registered nurse for over 50 years, Dalia served her community with compassion and skill at Mission Hospital. She had a true calling to help others, and her patients and colleagues alike felt the comfort of her kindness and care. Nursing was not just her profession—it was a reflection of who she was.
Outside of her work, Dalia found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She loved tending to her garden, where her patience and nurturing touch brought everything to life. She treasured time with her grandchildren—reading to them, pushing them on swings, and creating memories they will carry forever. She had a love for the beach, a spirit for travel, and a playful side that enjoyed a good game of chance. Above all, she was a woman who gave generously of herself.
Dalia was known for her warmth, her helpful nature, and her unwavering support for those she loved. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Her laughter was genuine, her presence comforting, and her heart immeasurable. She was truly loved by her family, her friends, and her community.
Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave and the lives she touched will continue to shine through all who knew her.
May she rest in eternal peace.
