

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gonzalo "Gonzy" Cruz on July 12, 2026. Born in Mountain Home, Idaho, Gonzalo spent his final days in Oklahoma, away from his home in Mission, Texas, but always held close in the hearts of those who loved him.
Gonzalo was a man whose presence was defined by devotion to his family. He was an amazing father, grandfather, uncle, and brother whose influence on his family will be felt for generations to come. He led his life with a quiet strength and a depth of love that provided a foundation for all of us.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Cruz. His legacy continues through his children: Ximena Cruzita Cruz and Gonzalo "Jay" Cruz Jr. Gonzalo was also a proud and dedicated father to his stepchildren, whom he loved as his own: Crystal Daley (and her children: Connor, Devin, Everett, and Meadow) Delila Webber (and her children: Adrian, Austin, and Wesley) Lupita Arrendando, Laura Bonilla (and her son, Elijah Ortiz) Matthew Puga (and his children: Aiden, Lorraine, and Matthew). He is also survived by his mom, Matilde Cruz; his siblings, Virginia Martinez, Rosa Samuel, Carmella Trevino, Samuel Cruz, Gabriela Cruz, Rebecca Rodriguez, Joanna Cruz. He will be missed dearly by his siblings and the many extended family members and friends who had the privilege of knowing him.
Gonzalo is reunited in heaven with his dad, Salomon Cruz.
A viewing will be held at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission, TX on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 5pm to 8pm with a sharing of memories and stories at 7pm. Funeral service will be at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission, TX on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 10am followed by burial at Valley Memorial Gardens.
