Born on December 12, 1933, in San Marcos, TX to Margarito Ortega and Paola Hinojosa Ortega.
He is survived with deep sorrow by three children, Sandra Iris (+Leslie) Lemley, Lionel Ortega, Oscar (Maria Del Rosario Luera) Ortega; sister, Maria Isabel Ortegal; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; niece, Edith Ortega; many more family and friends.
Guadalupe is reunited in heaven with his wife, Maria Elida Ortega; children, Guadalupe Ortega Jr., Rick Ortega, Eddie Ortega, Diana Martinez; brothers and sisters.
A viewing will be held at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 5pm to 9pm with a rosary service at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 8am followed by burial at Valley Memorial Gardens.
