

Guadalupe L. Solis, 74, was born in Rio Grande City, to Gregorio Lopez and Hortencia Morin Lopez. She entered eternal rest on Monday, February 13, 2023, surrounded by her family. She went home to be with her LORD and Savior.
In 1972, she married her high school sweetheart who she met when they were 16 years old. Together they raised 2 sons, David Lauro Solis and Victor Hugo Solis.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her LORD and Savior in her pre-teen years at El Arroyo Methodist Church. A church founded by her grandfather, in Rio Grande City.
“Pita”, as she was known by her friends and family was a prayer warrior. Pita prayed daily for family the needs of the less fortunate, and her church family.
She was a giver. Pita supported her church, missions, and worked and served Heavenly International Food Pantry for 10 years, serving over 100 families each month. Pita was the Rotary International, District 5930 First Lady, in 2011-2012, doing Rotary work and visiting 56 different Rotary Clubs in the Rio Grande Valley, Corpus Christi area, Victoria area, and Laredo area. She was a Paul Harris Fellow for Rotary International.
Pita was loving. She loved Jesus and He was first in her life. She encouraged her children, grandchildren and those who needed encouragement.
Spending time with family around the dinner table was a very cherished and common occurrence. She enjoyed cooking for loved ones.
Left to cherish Pita’s memories are her high school sweetheart and husband of 51 years, Lauro Solis, her sons David Solis (Crissy Bernal-Solis) and Victor Solis. Pita is also survived by her grandchildren, Dominick Solis, Donovan Solis, and Cristian Ortiz.
