Isidoro Avila was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on April 4, 1947. He later lived in Venecia, Tamaulipas (Mexico). During his youth, he worked in Camargo, Tamaulipas and met his future wife, Emma. Isidoro was sixteen when he met Emma who was thirteen years old. They dated for seven years before they were married. Shortly after marriage, they had their first son, Julio, while living in Venecia.
After years of hard work and dedication, Isidoro brought his wife and son to the United States. After living in several locations in Texas, he settled his family in the small community of Alton, Texas. While his life continued to move forward, his family continued to grow. His family grew from three to seven members, in total. Isidoro and Emma welcomed Jorge Luis, Rosalva, Isidro, and Oscar Mario into their lives.
Isidoro considered himself a family man and was very proud of his wife and five children. One of his passions in life was to paint cars. He gained lots of professional experience working for others throughout his career. After years of refining his craft, he decided to pursue the “American” dream and become a small business owner. His wife, Emma, was incredibly supportive of his dream and goal of owning his Paint and Body Shop. He owned and operated Avila’s Paint and Body Shop for decades. He was a successful business owner for over 25 years and became a pillar of his community.
Aside from being a successful business owner, Isidoro loved life and deeply cared about his friends and family. He was always offering to help, willing to listen – and his smile welcomed you to visit with him. He was the kind of person that always had a positive attitude about life. Isidoro was always supportive of his wife, five children, and all of his extended family.
Isidoro was married to Emma Avila for fifty-two wonderful years and shared an amazing life for 59 years. They created many wonderful memories, helped each other when challenges came, and lived life together as they watched their family grow. My dad’s legacy lives through his five children, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, something he was very proud of.
