Israel G. Perez

Israel Gonzalez Pérez was employed seasonally for Griffin & Brand of McAllen, Inc. for 25 years as an equipment switch operator. In the summer, the family traveled each year to California as migrant farm workers until 1986. Israel enjoyed visiting family and traveling. Fishing was his favorite pass time as well as gardening, cooking, listening to music and singing. He took a lot of pride in cultivating and growing his avocado trees. Israel Pérez took great pride in encouraging and supporting his children to achieve a higher education. Seeing and visiting his children, grandchildren and great-children brought him much joy.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Eliodora Perez; parents, Nicanor and Guadalupe; and his grandchildren, Lexing Morales and Javier Martinez.

He is survived by his children, Idalia (Rey) Gonzalez; Lupita (Roy) Becerra; Evelia Morales; Israel (Rosa Maria) Perez Jr., Oneida (Joe) Saldivar, Dora (Frank) Rivera; Isauro (Maria) Perez, Yolanda (Joey) Martinez; siblings, Cleotilde Lopez, Adan Perez, Ismael Perez, Ernestina Uribe; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel, with a Service at 7:00 pm.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel, with the burial to follow at 3:15 pm at Valley Memorial Gardens.

Both services will be streamed via Facebook Live.
