A devoted spouse, parent, sibling, uncle, and great-uncle, he was deeply loved for his kindhearted nature, his witty sense of humor—often expressed through charmingly corny dad jokes—and his remarkable talent for Elvis karaoke, where his beautiful baritone voice truly shone. He was a proud fan of the Houston Texans and Astros, passionately supporting his hometown teams through every season. He loved animals, enjoyed video games, and treasured traveling with his family. In quieter moments, he liked watching the news and had a deep appreciation for documentaries about musicians.
Job was a student at Edinburg CISD and, as an eighth grader, earned a full scholarship to attend St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin, Texas, where he proudly graduated with his high school diploma. Job furthered his education at Texas State Technical Institute where he earned his associate’s degree in Computer Maintenance Technology. He began his career at Texas Instrument in Houston, Texas and finished his career at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, in the Information Technology Department, where he retired after 15 years of dedicated service.
Job is survived by his loving wife, Filipinas “Gle” Tan Rangel; children, Chelsea Rangel and Christopher Rangel; siblings, Ester Rangel and Eunice (Gilbert) Garcia; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Candido Rangel, mother, Tabita Rangel and his brother E. Daniel Rangel.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on November 8, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel. Located at 3611 N. Taylor Rd., Mission, Texas. All friends and family are welcome.
We honor Joby and remember the happiness he brought to each of us and the love we shared. Joby will remain in our hearts forever.
