He was preceded in death by his parents Nieves and Olivia De La Garza.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Esther Paz De La Garza; his children Jovana Tran De La Garza, Stephanie Joyce De La Garza, Jose Edwardo De La Garza, Joe David De La Garza, Fernando De La Garza, Rosanne Michelle De La Garza; his siblings Maria Lydia De La Garza, Maria Juana De La Garza, Yolanda De La Garza Perez and Jose Jaime De La Garza. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Jose will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission. Following the visitation there will military honors and burial at 2:00 PM at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, Texas 78572.
