

He was preceded in death by his wife Odilia Esquivel.
He is survived by his children Jose(Carmen) Luis Esquivel Jr., Oscar(Claudia) Esquivel, Javier(Shera) Esquivel, Omar(Edna) Esquivel and Mayra(Edgar) Trigo. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Jose will be remembered as a kind and generous man who never said “no” to anyone in need. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending time playing bingo and slots, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, or enjoying a good meal out. A true handyman, Jose had a gift for carpentry and could fix just about anything, always lending his skills to help family, friends, and neighbors alike. He loved watching war movies, which reflected his admiration for courage and resilience, and he carried those same qualities in his own life. Above all, Jose will be cherished for his caring heart, his willingness to give of himself, and the countless ways he touched the lives of those around him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission at 12:00 pm.
