Jose's life was dedicated to agriculture and was the owner of Garcia Grove Care for 20 years. He was lover of music, dance, history, herbal medicines, political counsel/historian, & religious teacher. He loved to entertain and host so many in his home with his renditions of his favorite songs that he sang to all. As a Valley resident for 74 years he shared his passions of historical and political views as a local radio host, commentator/announcer for over 30 years until his passing. His last radio broadcast was Friday, June 2, 2023 on FM station 104.5 La Mas Romatica. He loved to sing at any occasion. He helped to composed three songs, "Manana en ocho dias", "Seamos Humanos" y "Sin fortuna." His favorite songs were "Ay Unos Ojos", "Solamente Una Ves", "Ava Maria" "Adios Reyna Del Cielo", "Buenos Dias Paloma Blanca". He was a great story teller with an immense memory for details to everything he experienced in his life. He was a lover of all people and helped over 200 family members, friends, and strangers become legal residents. He employed many and helped everyone he could to get a fresh start. He was a grand believer of second chances. He was active man who never complained. He never gave up on anyone. If you told him he couldn't do something, he took it as a personal challenge to rise above what people told him couldn't be done. He welcomed all to his home especially on his favorite holiday, Christmas. He held "Posadas Navidenas" every year honoring the birth of Christ which special ceremonies. He loved all holidays to host and feed everyone with amazing food and stories. Although he did not have any children of his own, he was a father figure to so many. His home was always full of people coming for advice, his fun-filled company, and just to be around him. Even when he was tired, he never showed it. He was a big supporter of personal rights. He wanted all that could hear him never to let anyone affect or impact their dignity and self-worth. He fought for those that did not believe in themselves and gave them the support they needed to see themselves differently. He also felt that anyone that wanted to be in politics to represent the masses be a humanitarian and have a love of all people in order to lead or be in a position of leadership. He lived a long beautiful life and though his death was unexpected, he would want us all to celebrate him and all he accomplished in his 85 years of life that our Lord granted him. His favorite phrase was "you must give in order to receive" and he applied that to all his life. He was a generous giver with a grateful & cheerful heart! Thank you, Tio Chepe for your daily prayers and love that you gave to all that you knew!
Jose "Tio Chepe" Garcia also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews to cherish his memory and live on with traditions for things he loved.
