My Grandma was the heart of our family. Each one of us had our own bond with her... mine was being the oddball of the family. I must've drove her crazy at times but she loved me all the same. She had a great sense of humor and was also very giving ... she loved her family.
I will miss our talks, our laughter but most of all her beautiful smile. My memories of Grandma I would love to share but there's too many , I was lucky to have her in my life and look forward to the day we meet again.

I met Grandma over 10 years ago with her granddaughter Cris , to whom I am now married. She always welcomed me into her home as if I was family from the start. I was raised with a family that saw their grandparents maybe once a year. The bond Cris has with her Grandmother is unbreakable even with death, and I am glad I met her and was a part of that love.

Maria Luisa Castaneda, was very proud to have been born in Pontiac, Michigan (1924).
Throughout the years, her home was shelter to countless relatives and friends. She opened her home to everyone;
She worked tirelessly, Never complained and always found comfort in serving others and loved spending time with family.
When she was able, Maria Luisa loved playing “BINGO!” and watching a Cubs game or the "Price is Right!"
Maria Luisa taught us to have FAITH in GOD and to be good to others.
Even with work, she Always met us at the door with open arms and love in her heart.
We celebrate her life knowing her spirit will live on...
