Maria Estela Rodriguez

Maria Estela Rodriguez, 83, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Briarcliff Nursing and Rehab Center in McAllen, TX. She was born on November 10, 1932 to Filomeno Ramos and Merced Guerra Ramos in Mission, TX. She is preceded by her parents; brothers, Filomeno Ramos, Jr. and Sotero Ramos, and sister, Maria Nora Salinas.

Maria is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Leonel Rodriguez, Sr.; children, Leonel Rodriguez, Jr., Norma Linda Gomez, Edna Garcia, Estela Rodriguez; brother, Reynaldo Ramos; sisters, Teresa Garza, Rita Elizondo, Merced Salazar; grandchildren, Juan Gomez, Jr., Lucas Cole Rodriguez, Jolene Pena, Jesenia Garza, Aaron Gomez, Valerie Ybarra, Justin Michael Garcia, Ashley Garcia, Nacona Marie Garcia; great-grandchildren, Caleb I. Pena, Jezaraie U. Pena, Christian Hunter Pena, Natalie Lynn Gomez, and Jayden Johnny Gomez.

Maria was a devoted catholic who liked to collect angels. She also enjoyed playing and watching baseball, as well as collecting baseball cards; she was a big Texas Rangers fan. She also enjoyed watching novelas and spending time with her family and beloved pets, Fido and Duke. She will be truly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 4pm – 5pm with a rosary to be prayed at 7pm within the Funeraria Del Angel chapel in Mission. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Juan Gomez, Jr., Justin Michael Garcia, Aaron Leonel Gomez, Omar Ybarra, Anthony Garcia, and Gualberto Garza. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel of Mission.
