Born on May 2, 1938 in Edinburg, TX to Julian Cantu and Maria Loera. Maria was a woman of great strength, faith, and unconditional love. She was a loving mother, and the matriarch of her family, which she led with great respect. She was the pillar of the family and was always present during all the important moments. She found the most joy in seeing her family united, and enjoyed celebrations together - holidays, birthdays. Maria loved to shop and had excellent taste in jewelry and fashion. She did not know a stranger, always making friends and sharing her kindness. Maria could often be found praying for the sick and helping those in need.
