

One of heaven's mighty warriors has arrived! Maria San Juanita Segovia went to paradise with our lord at her humble home with her family by her side on Monday, April 11th, 2022 where she put up a fight against her cancer of liposarcoma.
Maria San Juanita was born on a bright sunny Saturday on July 2nd of 1955 in McAllen Texas to Erasmo and Sabina Garza. She lived a beautiful life and to know her was to be in the presence of an amazing noble, humble, and kind woman. She graduated from McAllen High School in 1974 (Go Bulldogs!) Maria San Juanita worked for 33 years for U.S Customs and Border protection as an import specialist where she displayed her hard work and knowledge. Maria San Juanita lived her life to the fullest enjoying the simple blessings, such as spending quality time with her family, attending church at Our Lady of Sorrows as a Eucharistic Minister, being a prayer warrior, gardening, and reading, watching the Hallmark channel, and cherishing her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father Erasmo Garza Sr.
Maria San Juanita is survived by her loving husband Ricardo Segovia Sr. of 48 years, her true love. Her sons; Ricardo Segovia Jr (Anggie), Rolando Segovia (Hector), and Roy Segovia. Her mother Sabina Garza, and brothers; Erasmo Garza Jr., Gerardo Garza (Sally), Rolando Garza (Patsy), sisters; Gracie Leal (Joe), Rita Olivarez (Ernie). Many friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and her ultimate pride and joy, her grandchildren; Jalen, Mia, Isaiah, Sebastian, Dravin, and Samantha Segovia.
Family and friends whose lives Maria San Juanita touched are invited to attend her victory and rejoice on Easter Sunday, April 17th, 2022 at Del Angel Funeral Home (3611 N Taylor Rd. Mission, TX 78573). Visitation will be from 3-9 pm with a Rosary prayer service scheduled at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 18th, 2022 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church (1108 W. Hackberry Ave. McAllen, TX 78501) starting at 10 am. The burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens (3601-3611 N Taylor Rd. Mission, TX 78473).
