With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael John Alvarez Jr., who left this world far too soon on June 8, 2025, just shy of his 29th birthday. Michael was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, and friend whose presence lit up every room, and whose love for family defined his life.
Born on June 20, 1996, Michael was the beloved son of Michael John Alvarez Sr. and stepmother Jo Ann Alvarez, and of Cynthia Rivas and stepfather Aaron Rivas. He was raised in a large and loving family, surrounded by siblings Cynthia Valdez, Rebecca Rivas, Ruben Rivas, Roldan Rivas, Romeo Rivas, Sibylla Marie Alvarez, and Cadee Belen Aguilar. His relationships with his family were deep and meaningful—he valued connection, loyalty, and support above all.
Michael is survived by his wife Miah Anne Alvarez whom he shared a decade of love and life with. Michael leaves behind four beautiful children: Michael John Alvarez III, Elijah John Alvarez, Harley Anne Alvarez, and Josiah Rowdy Alvarez. Michael was a proud and hands-on father who found his greatest joy in time spent with his children—teaching, laughing, and simply being together.
Michael also leaves behind a large family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A true outdoorsman, Michael loved fishing, BBQing, and working on his motorcycle. Whether he was casting a line at the lake, tending to the grill, or getting his hands greasy with a wrench, he found peace and happiness in the simple things. His passions reflected his character—steady, practical, joyful, and full of heart.
Michael had a giving spirit and a playful soul. He was the kind of man who showed up when it mattered, offered help before it was asked, and always had time for those he loved. His laughter, loyalty, and unforgettable presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family. Though he has left this earth, his memory will live on through the lives of his children, the hearts of his family, and the many moments of joy he gave to others.
Forever loved, never forgotten.
