Migdalia Edith Alanis

Migdalia was born in McAllen, Texas in 1975 to Juan Jose and Maria Alicia Moncayo. Migdalia enjoyed her childhood growing up in-between McAllen, Francisco I Madero, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and traveling with her parents and brother to California. She was a proud Nikki Rowe Warrior, she shared a lifelong friendship with Janie who introduced her to the love of her life and best friend, Guadalupe “Guale” Alanis of Rio Grande City, Texas. They would marry in 1996.

Migdalia would go on to join Guale in travelling for a year to various locations, they lived Houston and settling in Pearland, Texas. Migdalia and Guale welcomed their son, Arik, in 2000 followed by daughter, Aleksa Edith, in 2005. Migdalia was a devoted wife and mother. Migdalia was a woman of many passions her favorite was gardening and listening to the birds in her garden in company of her loyal companions Ralfy and Onyx.

She will be dearly missed by her husband of 25 years, Guadalupe “Guale”; children, Arik, and Aleksa Edith; parents, Juan Jose Moncayo and Maria Alicia Salinas de Moncayo; brother Rodolfo “Rudy” (Cris) Moncayo; goddaughter and niece Charlize Monzerrat; grandmother, Socorro Moncayo Vela; father and mother-in-law Guadalupe and Nelly Alanis; brothers-in-law Oscar (Mayda), Dario (Irasema); sister-in-law Mayra (Jose); as well as numerous nephews, nieces, family members and friends.

Migdalia was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Mercedes and Alicia Salinas; paternal grandfather, Jose Moncayo Vela; aunt, Isabela Salinas and uncle, Joel Moncayo Vela.

A visitation for Migdalia will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 3611 North Taylor Road, Mission, Texas 78573. A prayer service will occur Friday, March 25, 2022 at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 3611 North Taylor Road, Mission, Texas 78573. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
