Pete was one of the principals at EPHS that I had the privilege of working under. My wife and I were newlyweds when we met Mari, Pete’s wife. We visited them in their small apartment on Monroe St. and later at their home on Brazos.   We also shared many great times after the Friday night football games. Always a good friend indeed. Our sincere condolences  go out to Mari and all his family. We will keep you in our prayers. May he Rest In Peace. 


My condolences to Mr. Pete Castillo's family. He was principal at EPHS during my time in high school. I was remembering the other day and talking to my mother about a time when he called me into the office to ask some questions about a family member. Mr. Castillo was very kind and friendly and non-threatening. I always remember him standing  by as we emptied the halls on the bell rang. May God bless the family during this time of great loss. Many thanks for the time he shared at EPHS. Class of 1989.

Mr.  Castillo was an all around great guy and Principal.  I can still see him in the halls talking to folks.  Class of 88.

We had the honor of meeting Mr. Castillo while visiting Eagle Pass. I remember him as a kind and welcoming man. May he rest in our Lord's heavenly kingdom.  Condolences to his family and friends.

My memories of My dear formar principle in Eagle Pass was that he was a Wonderful man, caring, kind, and he had my respects always... my deepest condolences and prayers to the family and friends. R.I. Paradise Mr. Pete R. Castillo. 

My most sincere heartfelt condolences to you and all the family on the passing of Mr. Pete R. Castillo... He was a good man hard worker and very kind man and a positive role model.  May he be at peace in the light of the Holy Spirit 🙏

Mr. Castillo was my high school prinicipal. I remember seeing him in the hall ways between classes. He always made himself present for the well being and safety of us students. He was everywhere. I remember him always with a smile and he would alway say good morning as I walked by on the way to first period which was P.E. What impressed me the most was how he carried himself. I admired him. He was larger than life. We knew not to get in trouble and be on his bad side which we never did. He truly cared about us students. He was truly a great principal. My heartfelt condolences and prayers to the Castillo Family.

       Not only was Mr. Castillo my high school principal, but I also had the pleasure of working under his leadership at Memorial Jr. High.  As my principal, he was a strong but caring disciplinarian.  Students respected him.  He ran a tight ship and it showed.  I fondly remember walking down the halls with my high school sweetheart, now my husband, and he would hold my hand (which was a big no,no in those those days! Lol) and we would hear Mr. Castillo yell “GONZALEZ!” I would immediately let go of his hand and kept walking.  We knew why he was calling us out. He was also one to always greet you with a smile.  Now that I think about it, I felt safe in that school. 
       During his tenure at Memorial Jr High, I was the campus secretary.   I have nothing but fond memories of him.  I was able to see him in a different light.  I saw even more of his human side.  I remember how he was always talking about his family.  His love for them evident in his words.  He also had a funny side.  I remember our school had won a ceramic cactus in a district dance, and we had it on display at the front office.  In the afternoon, he would usually pass by the front office and stop to chit chat with all the secretaries.  Well that day, his conversation was so animated that he flipped his arms and broke the cactus! We all just gasped! Funny thing is that only the  sides broke and he picks it up and says “Well now it looks like a pickle!” Oh my God! We all broke out in laughter! 
       I will always fondly remember Mr. Castillo.  May he Rest In Peace.   May God provide the family strength and comfort during this difficult time.  God bless.  Our deepest condolences from Rey and Alicia Gonzalez. 
       

I worked under Mr. Castillo during his tenure as principal of Eagle Pass High School.  He was an excellent administrator... ALWAYS a true professional.  He was the ONLY principal I worked for that would take the time to write personal Thank You notes every time he felt his teachers needed recognition.   A great disciplinarian!!!

He was a very good man, husband and father. I will remember him as my Eagle Pass High School Principal. He was a trusted school principal. I valued his care, concern, and attention to students. Norma, my thoughts are with you, your mom, and your whole family at this time of your great loss. RIP, Sir. Peace.

My condolences to the family. Mr Castillo was my HS principle. Very fond memories of him in the hallways. “Carmona! You’ve got someplace to be?” His interactions were always with a smile. He was a pleasant man and I was very fond of him. He was compassionate and understanding. He took his time getting to know his students. Thank you for being a positive role model during my HS years.  May you RIP. 

To me Mr. Castillo was our own...an Eagle Passan, an icon, the perfect example of old school values. My condolences and prayers to the family.  RIP Mr. Castillo, you will always be on our hearts.

PETE R. CAS TILLO is my oldest brother   & I LOVED MY BROTHER.  We  had our differences but that's alright, I still CARED &  RESPECTED my big brother with all my heart. When I was a little  girl he babysat me & my younger siblings, I would run out the door & tried to get away, because he was a strict babysitter.  I never forgot my crazy antics  I would try to escape my big brothers rules. I Loved him and I knew be was very smart, courageous,  & caring.  God be with you mi hermano. Your sister Virginia
