Pompeyo Obregon passed away peacefully on October 30, 2018 in Kingsville, TX surrounded by his family.
He is survived by one sister Ramona Obregon, age 94 of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico; his wife, Josefina Ruiz de Obregon; a son Roberto (Zonia) Obregon of Kingsville, TX and a daughter, Sylvia (Cliff) Sing of Idaho Falls, ID. He was preceded in death by a son, Homero Obregon (died at age 3).
Pompeyo emigrated to the US with his bride and raised a family in Mission, TX where he lived for sixty-one years until his health was declining. He was cared for/watched over for the last three years by his son and daughter-in-law in Kingsville, TX.
Pompeyo was a farm laborer/farmer and a mechanic. He was a lover of books, learning and possessed a keen mechanical ability which he passed onto his children and grandchildren. He loved classical music (Johann Strauss, Jr waltzes in particular), was a great story teller and enjoyed a good discussion on many topics.
He has five grandchildren: Kevin Jung, Neil Jung and Michelle Jacqueline Sing (Sylvia Obregon & Clifford Jung Sing, parents), Robert Jr. and Joel Homero Obregon (Robert Obregon and Zonia Garcia-Obregon, parents) and five great-grandchildren: Isaac Jung , Hazel Anne and Jacklynn Grace Sing (Kevin Jung & Ellen Marie Sing, parents) and Cal Jung and Dean Jung Sing (Neil Jung & Caitlin O’Brien Sing, parents).
