Rian, son of Lynda Harvell Swain and John Zimmerman, loving husband of Wendy Zimmerman, passed away in his home in McAllen, Texas, after a long battle with cancer.
He is survived by his parents, two children, Aalok and Rei, and wife Wendy, as well as two siblings, Allan Zimmerman and Wendy Reyes.
He graduated from Oñate High School in New Mexico in 1993, before earning his Bachelor's from New Mexico State University and Master's from Eastern New Mexico University.
Rian dedicated his life to helping people as an Athletic Trainer in McAllen, Texas, at Nikki Rowe High School. He wrote poetry and loved comic books. He was a pillar of the community and touched many lives.
Rian will be remembered for his kindness, wit, unwavering faith, and love for his family. His laughter and wisdom were gifts to everyone who knew him.
A viewing will be held at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 5pm to 10pm with a Funeral Service at 7pm.
