Roberto Avila 56, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 31, 2014 in McAllen. Roberto was born on July 28, 1957 in San Juan, Texas to Benjamin Avila and Francisca Reyes. Mr. Avila was a devout Christian who exemplified his faith and every aspect of his life. He was a giving person and always helped those who were in need. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Martha Avila; his children, Arturo Cantu, Elizabeth Cantu, Jasmine Avila; grandson, Roberto "Robbie" Avila and parents, Benjamin and Margarita Avila. He was a loving husband, father grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, Monday, June 2, 2014, at Funeraria del Angel in Mission. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Funeraria del Angel in Mission. Interment will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria del Angel in Mission, a dignity memorial provider, 3611 N. Taylor Rd. in Mission.
