With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Sammy, whose warmth, generosity, and deep love for others touched every life he crossed. Sammy was a caring and sentimental soul, someone with a big heart who gave without hesitation and loved without limits. Whether you knew him for years or met him only once, you felt his kindness immediately.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Hugo Gonzales and by his dog Roxie.
Sammy is survived by his wife Crystal Gonzalez; his parents Luis Oscar (Diana) Gonzalez and Sandra Moore; his sister Elizabeth Ann Gonzalez and his grandmother Maria Elisa Bazan Gonzales.
Sammy had a special way of noticing beauty in the world around him. He loved taking photographs of the sky—sunsets, cloud shapes, streaks of color—capturing moments that others might overlook. Through his camera lens, he reminded us to slow down and appreciate the simple, breathtaking things.
Music was woven into his life, especially rap, which he listened to with passion and joy. And on game days, he proudly cheered for his favorite team, the San Francisco 49ers—win or lose, he stayed loyal.
What we will remember most is how Sammy made people feel: seen, valued, and loved. His generosity knew no boundaries. He gave his time, his heart, and his laughter freely and fully. The world is dimmer without him, but the love he shared continues to live on in each of us.
Sammy leaves behind a legacy of compassion, creativity, and unwavering love. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created—and the love he gave—will remain forever.
Rest easy, Sammy. Thank you for the light you brought into our lives.
