

Sandra is survived by her husband Benjamin Dean Richardson, three daughters, Briana Nicole Richardson, Brittany Diane Richardson, and Bridget Taylor Richardson; parents, Juan Jose and Catalina Rodriguez; siblings, Janie (Albert) Ochoa, Sergio (Cathy) Rodriguez, Johnny Rodriguez; nieces and nephews, Sergio Andres, Gabriella Rose, Matthew Jacob, Anna Andrea, Nadya Lizette, Talina Victoria and Thomas Alberto.
She was preceded in death by Helen & Bill Richardson.
Sandra graduated from McAllen High School in 1992. Obtained her Bachelors and Masters in Educational Leadership from UTPA. She worked as an Educator and Administrator. She had recently began working for Goodwill Industries as Director of Education before her cancer diagnosis.
Sandra was an avid runner, often running 4-6 miles per day. She loved Zumba and her beloved boxers, Jack and Lucas. She enjoyed dancing and getting together with family and friends
She could light up the room with her energy and laughter. She was compassionate and always helped anyone she could. Many of her former students continue to stay in touch with her over the years. So many students and coworkers adored her for her energy and genuineness.
Sandra loved her family more than anything. Her time with her family and friends was always time well spent. Sandra was the first one to volunteer to help her mom make tamales. She enjoyed family parties and spending time with all her cousins. She loved traveling to Las Vegas and playing slot machines every chance she could. She also loved vanilla cake, Coca Cola, and her husband’s BBQ.
The visitation will be held Sunday, November 15, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel with a rosary at 6:00 PM.
The funeral mass will take place Monday, November 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2201 Martin Ave, McAllen, TX 78504, with the burial will to follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
