Sylvia L. Briones, 68 years young, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2020 after a brief but fierce battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her loving parents Matilde and Cosme Liscano and her siblings Margarita Gomez and Cosme Liscano Jr.
Sylvia was a proud, life-long resident of McAllen, Texas and is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 43 years, Mario Briones and her children, Araceli Rodriguez (Michael), Angélica Lopez (Tony), and Mario, Jr. (Priscilla). She also leaves behind eight beautiful grandchildren and a number of loving family members and friends.
Sylvia was a mountain of woman. A wife and a mother above all things with a zeal for her family. A stronger woman would be difficult to find. She poured herself wholly into providing for her family. No task too big, no goal left unconquered, she accomplished what she set her mind to and never had a moment’s hesitation when it came to helping others. She loved deeply and protected fearlessly. Sylvia leaves behind a legacy of her love and a hole in our hearts that won’t be filled until we meet again. We rejoice in the joy of her eternal rest with our heavenly father and take solace with the many beautiful memories she leaves in the hearts of all those whose life she touched.
“Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word…” Luke 2:29
Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me.

And Immortality
