April 12, 1967 – April 13, 2019
Tila Ochoa, 52, ceased to endure the slings and arrows of this world to dwell in the Kingdom of God on April 13, 2019 in McAllen, TX. She was born in Mexico City, Mexico on April 12, 1967 but left this world an Americana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel Angel Granados Venegas and Dora Carolina De Saracho Besora, brother Miguel Angel (Micky) Granados de Saracho, and grandparents, Arturo De Saracho, Cencepcion Besora, Angel Granados and Tila Venegas. Tila is survived by the loves her life husband Juan Ochoa and Daughter Amy Ochoa and her husband Xavier Elejarza, stepdaughters, Joy Monserrat and Rosa Desiree Ochoa Martinez, sisters Lorena Granados de Saracho, Patricia Tricorache, and brother Guillermo (Guerro) Granados de Saracho and countless friends. I have no words, rhyme, reason or utterance that could do Tila justice. As a woman she was larger than life and awe inspiring. She was bold in words and deed and faced every challenge with unflinching courage. I, like everyone who knew her, was blessed to have Tila in my life. We lived many adventures together that left me quivering while she stood steadfast. My God, what a woman. Tila was a tough customer but always a straight shooter. Tila was always quick with advice, however unsolicited, and was always sure that the world and all its inhabitants would be far better off if they just listened to her. Some of us had the sense to do this and unexplainably are better people for it. Tila received a liver transplant that bought her ten more years of life. She used that time to get a Master’s degree and finish raising her daughter and helping people in her capacity as Licensed Master Social Worker. Tila’s legacy will live in the ideals and values she instilled in everyone she touched. She told me to tell everyone that she heard of this place called heaven and, “I let curiosity get the better of me.” I hope there is a heaven because I know Tila will be there. And if I make it there, I know I’ll find her petitioning for a suggestions box. Rest in peace, Tila Ochoa, you’ve earned it. We will always love you. The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 6pm-9pm at Funeraria Del Angel Chapel of Serenity. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel, 3611 Taylor Rd, Mission, TX 78573.
