Vicente Garza

Vicente Garza, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 87. A man of humor, strength, and endless dedication, Vicente left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Born on May 15, 1938, Vicente was the son of Francisco and Lidia Garza. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Julia Garza; his parents; and his siblings: Dora Medreno, Martha Espinoza, Lydia Garcia, Minerva Garza, and Francisco Garza.

Vicente is survived by his loving children: Wanda Garza-Arredondo (Leonzo ✝), Vincent Garza (Esmeralda), and Rhea Jené Garza (Randy). His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Clarisse Zamora, Celeste Garza, Cyrena Arredondo, Cirr Arredondo, Casandra Garza, Katrina Garza, and Brandon Garza, and his great-grandchildren: Zacharia Zamora, Luke Zamora, and Evelyn Valencia.

A lifelong hard worker, Vicente was known for never taking a day off. Whether he was tending the grill for a family BBQ, casting a line while fishing, or simply enjoying nature, he embraced life with energy and heart. He loved spending time outdoors and was happiest when surrounded by his family, sharing stories, laughter, and endless jokes.

Vicente had a passion for reading and was always up to date with current events. He had a special fondness for reality TV and never missed a game played by his favorite Chicago teams—the Bears, Blackhawks, and Cubs.

Though he has left this world, Vicente’s humor, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family will live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary recited at 7pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Funeraria Del Angel at 12:00 pm. Burial and military honors will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
