Victoria Salinas Johnston, 68, from Mission went to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 16, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rene and Concepcion (Molina) Salinas, She is survived by 3 sisters, Sylvia Salinas, Blanca E. Balli (David) and Alma (Chuck) Doffing. She was a loving aunt to 5 nieces, 1 nephew, Jessica (Ethan) Kirchner, Ashley Doffing, Sabrina Doffing, Lanay (Marcus) Murguia, Brianna (Chelsea) Balli, Rene Balli, and 1 great-nephew Jackson Kirchner.
Vicky was born in 1950, graduated from PSJA High School and graduated from Pan American University as a Registered Nurse. She started her career at Scott & White in Temple, TX. Most of her career was spent working at Golden Palms in Harlingen, TX as Director of Nursing. She ended her career as a school nurse at Veteran’s High School in Mission, TX, where she was committed, compassionate and took pride in working with the students.
Vicky is best remembered making home decorations or offering decorating tips for her family. Vicky was known to be her family’s personal nurse and advisor. To her nieces and nephews, she will always be the aunt that never said “no”.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Funeraria Del Angel, Chapel of Serenity at 10:00 am. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am and burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
