Anthony was born on March 14, 1939 in Syracuse, NY to Anthony N. De John and Sophie Zesky-De John. He grew up and attended school in New York. He met the love of his life, Doris Rogers, in 1956. They courted for four years and married in 1960. Shortly thereafter, the couple moved west and made California their home. He attended Long Beach City College and began his forty year career as a Union Electrician while serving on several Executive Boards. Anthony liked fishing, camping and softball as a younger man. As he got older, he preferred to relax by watching sports like softball and baseball. The Angels were his favorite team! He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time in their retirement community of Palmia where he garnered many friends. As much as he liked sports, his greatest love was simply spending quality time with his family. *A “Private Service” and “Celebration of Life” will be held at Fairhaven Memorial Services Chapel at a later date.
