Carol Sue Henderson

We are sad to announce Carol S. Henderson (age 76) of San Clemente passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2023. Carol Sue Arnold was born January 12, 1947, to Walter (Bub) and Shirley Arnold in Merced, California. Carol graduated from Costa Mesa High School and married her first husband, Jim Rounds. They welcomed two daughters, Michelle (Hotchkiss) and Melissa (Thorn). Carol met her second husband and the love of her life, William (Woody) Henderson, at The Cowboy dance club, in Anaheim, CA. They were married in 1983 and have lived in San Clemente ever since. Carol worked as a supervisor for State Fund Insurance in Santa Ana until her retirement in 2011. Carol loved spending time with her husband Woody and going out to eat Mexican food (her absolute favorite!), at least five days a week. She also enjoyed traveling to South Dakota to visit her daughter Michelle, especially at Thanksgiving. She loved her pet dogs throughout her life, including Kai, Red, Spike, and Bitzy. She enjoyed dancing and dreamed of one day working at “the finest dance clubs in the world.” Carol loved to laugh and would light up a room when she entered. She had a way of making everyone smile and laugh, because she was so full of life and love. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Grateful for having shared her life is her husband, Woody Henderson, her daughters Michelle (Rich) Hotchkiss and Maggie Henderson, five grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, and Jacob Hotchkiss, and Karley and Sadie Henderson, plus many in-laws and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Melissa, parents-in-law, and two siblings.
