

Charles is survived by his wife, Rose Christy (nee Lopez), his children, Alan Christy, Craig Christy, Ryan Christy, and Valerie Christy. Grandchildren, Samuel, Hunter, Naomi, Harper, and Harrison.
Charles was born in Pierre, South Dakota in 1936 to Loren and Josephine Lewis Christy. He grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota where he tested out of high school at age 14 and proceeded to study electronics. Charles moved to California in 1956 and finished his National Guard Reserve, while landing a job with an electronic/aerospace company where he met Rose in 1959. They were married in June of 1962.
Charles was an avid computer nut. Always fixing, working, and programming computers and enjoying every minute. He loved art and was proficient at oil painting, drawing, and carving wood into amazing masterpieces. Charles was a lover of music, especially jazz. He was a skilled and intuitive musician and excelled at the harmonica, guitar, and bass guitar and taught all his children music and art at a young age.
Charles loved motorcycles, and before he became too old to ride, had numerous bikes in his garage and would be found tinkering and riding around the neighborhood with kids in tow. A problem solver and a genius in his own right; could fix anything and always had an answer to the most difficult and or mind-boggling of questions. A devoted husband, father, and wonderful grandfather. He adored every one of his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by family, friends and all that knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on February 19th 2021 at Fairhaven Memorial in Mission Viejo.
