Lois Clare Carpenter Mason, departed this earthly life when God called her home on Thursday, February 10, 2022. She was born April 15, 1928 in San Francisco, Ca. to Elwood Carpenter and Gratia Dean Bacon. The family returned to Cascade Idaho and she grew up in a place called Beaver Meadows. Clare graduated from Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa Id. with a teaching degree. In December 1950 she went to Japan to be a missionary. While there, she met, the love of her life, Jesse Mason (Jan 1951). They fell in love and were married June 27, 1951. They were missionaries and pastors, ministering in twenty-eight countries. Jesse and Clare had three children: David, Andrew (Lori) and Judith and were married sixty-one years.

Clare was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse, her parents: Elwood Carpenter and Gratia Dean Bacon, son Andrew, brother Bill and sister Janice.

Clare leaves to cherish her memories: her son David and daughter Judith, grandchildren: Camilla, Ryan (Reece), Jessica (Conrad), Jennifer, Matthew (Alinna), James (Jessie), Joel (Sara), Andrew John, great-grandchildren: Theo, Lincoln, Dahlia, Avani, Desmond, Rosalie, Claire, Isabella, Etta Claire and a host of nieces and nephews.
