

Clifford Steven Strawn was born on April 20, 1950, in Iowa City, Iowa. At age 9 his family moved to California and ultimately settled in Lompoc, CA. He attended Cabrillo High School where he was active in the Science Club and graduated with honors.
In 1970, he attended Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California where he received an AA/AS with Alpha Gamma Sigma honors, majoring in Anthropology and Meteorology with Minors in Military History and Religious Studies. He was also a President’s Club honors student.
In 1974 he attended California State University Northridge, receiving a BA/BS with Phi Beta Kappa academic honors. There he majored in Cartography & Geographical Engineering with a minor in Business Management.
His thirst for knowledge continued taking him off to college once again. In 1976 he attended Rancho Santiago College in Santa Ana, California and received an AA in Real Estate, receiving Alpha Gamma Sigma honors and achieving a broker’s license. He also minored in Economics and Accounting.
However, that wasn’t quite enough so in 1989, He attended the Institute of Certified Travel Agents, Wellesley, Massachusetts where he received his CTC as a lifetime Certified Travel Counselor.
From 1974-1983 he was a Real Estate Broker with his own firm employing several Agents. He was also an Investment Property Realtor with operating licenses in seven states. Additionally, he worked with his uncle, landing large commercial property deals. He also taught Real Estate courses in the Southern California Community College District.
From 1983-2003, he changed his career direction to the travel industry and was an Operations Supervisor and International Travel Advisor. He became a world traveler visiting more than 200 countries. It was through this venture that his love of the South Pacific and anything tropical began.
While in this career, he took the biggest trip to the South Pacific, when in April, 1990, he married his wife Wanda and took her on a first class honeymoon to Tahiti. After the honeymoon, they settled in Lake Forest, California where they began raising a family.
In 2003 Cliff began working as a Night Auditor at the Hampton Inn, Foothill Ranch California continuing in that career path with several hotels until March of 2020.
In 2012 the Strawn family moved to Mission Viejo, California where they remain.
Cliff felt his life started when he got married and his family was his entire focus. He loved hummingbirds and cats. He and Wanda enjoyed challenging each other to Jeopardy, taking the kids to Disneyland, and entertaining friends.
He is predeceased by his Parents, Loren and Adina Strawn of Murrieta, California, a brother Randy Strawn of Oklahoma, and a brother Dennis Strawn of Santa Maria, California. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, A son Kenneth Strawn, and a daughter Allison Strawn all of Mission Viejo.
